In our home, we are big on traditions.
Since my kids were little, it has felt important to celebrate the small holidays, not just the big ones. I knew going into motherhood that I only get so many years of holidays with my kids under my roof. Each one felt like a chance to create a memory and start something that could live on into the next generation.

Growing up, every visit to my grandma’s house included a craft or an activity. It was simple, but it felt exciting and special. My mom did the same for us. Birthdays had themes. Holidays had intention. Those moments stayed with me.
When I became a mom, I knew I wanted to keep those traditions alive for my own kids, and maybe even enhance them a little.
That is why Kids Corner Market is rooted in traditions.
St. Patrick’s Day has its roots in Irish tradition, but in our home it shows up as a small celebration of imagination, wonder, and being together.
The magic actually starts the day before.

The day before St. Patrick’s Day, I set out leprechaun trap supplies and St. Patrick’s Day pajamas. In the morning, my kids wake up to everything waiting for them. It sets the tone for a full day of crafting, imagination, and being together.
We sit at the table and build our leprechaun trap. We use a box, craft paper, stickers, pens, and whatever else we have around the house. It is not elaborate. It does not take days. It is a few hours of slowing down and stepping into their imagination.
The traps are different every year, but the feeling is always the same.
We leave the trap out overnight. In the morning, the leprechaun has visited. He leaves tiny footprints and a note that says, “Nice try. Better luck next year.” My kids wake up in their St. Patrick’s Day pajamas and run to check the trap. They follow the footprints. Sometimes there are small treats. Sometimes there is a simple scavenger hunt.

We make green waffles. We might put together a rainbow snack board or have Lucky Charms for a treat. Some years they head off to school. Other years we spend the day together at home.
One of my favorite parts is how little decorating it actually requires. A festive table with themed paper plates, napkins, and a few small touches makes the day feel special. When the day is over, everything goes into a small container to be used again next year.
That is the heart of it.

It is not about doing everything. It is about doing something.
St. Patrick’s Day pajamas. A simple craft. A shared moment at the table. A tradition your kids will remember.
Kids Corner Market exists to help families create moments like these. Traditions that feel doable, meaningful, and full of childhood magic, one holiday at a time.
